Product Description
Woodpeckers, mockingbirds and bluebirds consume fruit as part of their diet and will relish the cherries and other real fruit in this special formula. If you are trying to attract new species of birds to your garden, try adding some Fruit and Nut Select to your feeding plan. This high quality premium blend is great for year round feeding and includes a mix of dried fruits, peanut bits and pieces, black oil and large striped sunflower seeds and assorted nut chips.

3 out of 5 stars squirrel vs bird feed   January 11, 2010
T. Busby (Wesley Chapel, NC)
Although this product is hearty and similar to what I had hoped it to be, this feed seems more suitable for squirrels than birds. We mixed it with other bird seed to suit our particular interests. All together, it's not a bad product at all; it just did not appeal to me enough to purchase it again.

5 out of 5 stars A hit so far.   October 2, 2009

I added the fruit and nut select in a new feeder, because I wanted to bulk up the options for the colder months. Within minutes, it attracted two funny little chickadees. Beyond that, it took a few days for it to catch on, but I'm refilling the feeder every 1-2 days and it's the second most popular of my feeders. The mix seems to be heavy on the black oil seeds which is a favorite of a lot of birds. It has a premium price, made more expensive by it's popularity, but it's better than paying a lot of money for something they won't eat.

Ultimately, know the birds in your area to decide if it targets the right sort of birds for where you live, but it does seem to be working out in Northern Minnesota.
