Serious bluebirders will appreciate the special features of this "Ultimate Bluebird House!" Made of 7/8" thick Western Red Cedar for proper insulation. 7/8" thickness is one of the most important features of a bluebird house. Both sides open, one to reveal a Plexiglas partition to allow for safe observation of the nest and the other for clean-out. An aluminum screen covering attached above the bottom floor discourages blowfly larvae from attacking the birds. A copper insert predator guard protects the entrance hole and a generous-sized roof offers more protection from the elements. Brass hinges and zinc chromate screws. Approved by the North American Bluebird Society, this box is used in nature centers and bluebird trails all across the country. Made in the U.S.A exclusively for the Backyard Bird Company. I am extremely impressed with the quality and details on this birdhouse. There are doors on each side, one side opens for easy cleaning and the other opens to a clear plexiglass side which allows viewers to see what is happening inside the birdhouse as the babies progress. It is well made, good looking and very reasonably priced!
